Independent insurance agents are able to operate with the ease and effectiveness they do today because of the work done by our government affairs professionals.
Unfortunately, the work of Government Affairs team often goes unheralded; appreciated by only those few who take the time to fully understand the effort and expertise necessary to Washington, DC, (and state governments), politically positive environments for the insurance industry.
This is why I asked, Nathan Riedel, VP of Political Affairs at the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America, to join Agency Nation Radio.
More independent insurance agents, (and industry professionals as a whole), need to be aware of the work Nathan and the rest of the Government Affairs team do on a daily basis.

Here are a just a few of the things we discuss:
- How the Big I Government Affairs team worked to save Flood Insurance
- What is involved in the day-to-day of the Government Affairs team
- Why Ryan personally believes we must show more support for the Government Affairs team.
