Now is the Time to Invest — in You
While everyone knows the basic principle of buying low and selling high, it takes some nerve to invest when the market is down — unless we’re talking about investing time and resources in yourself and your business.
In that case, now is a great time to invest in things like training and self-development.
The current isolation created by social distancing, while challenging, also creates an opportunity to round out some areas of your knowledge and perhaps learn something new. And, even as people begin getting back to work over the next few months, our world will be forever changed. But that doesn’t mean you can’t continue to learn and grow. In fact, just the opposite is true!
We’re beginning to see independent agencies take advantage of this opportunity to invest more in training and development and I would encourage you to consider how your team can benefit from looking at this situation as an opportunity. Think about how you can take advantage of the variety of online resources available to do things like:
- Staying aware of usage-based insurance options using telematics, like SmartRide and SmartMiles
- Getting your staff up-to-date on newer offerings, like identity theft coverage
- Keeping up with Continuing Education (CE) credits with live webinars
- Helping your team hone their skills around spotting the signs of insurance fraud
- Growing your business faster by taking full advantage of co-op programs
- Educating your team on how to quote quickly and virtually
- Keeping an eye on the economy, what’s going on in the marketplace and changing customer dynamics, including with updates from our executives and thought leaders
After all, investing in yourself now can pay handsome dividends down the road.
