Making Elevate 2017 a One-of-a-Kind Experience

There is no doubt about it, Elevate 2017 was a one-of-a-kind experience.

You can get a feel for that experience in official recap post: 10 Thoughts on Agency Nation Elevate 2017.

Over the last week and half I’ve spent significant time reflecting on what it was exactly, that made Elevate 2017 a one-of-a-kind experience.

At first glance, there are many qualities on the surface of the event that added to the experience:

  • The Pfister Hotel defines the term, “Majestic.”
  • The weather was absolutely perfect.
  • The speakers were of the HIGHEST quality.
  • The Agency Nation staff was energetic and everywhere.
  • The single floor format created an intimate environment for networking.

I’m sure we could come up with more.

Some of these qualities were planned and executed on. While others were dumb luck.

However, none of these qualities capture the essence of what made Elevate 2017 the one-of-a-kind experience it was.

Nope.

What made Elevate 2017 special was different.

You can’t plan for it.

You can’t strategize it.

In truth, as an event planner, you have little control over whether or not this particular “Thing” is part of the conference or not.

So…

What was it that made Elevate 2017 a one-of-a-kind experience?

It was the people that showed up.

Better put, the energy, enthusiasm and engagement of the people that showed up at Elevate 2017 are what made the event a one-of-a-kind experience.

Elevate attendees came ready to play.

With eyes wide open, Elevate attendees leaned into every session.

It was a sight to behold.
