Guys, I just looked at the calendar last night and realized:

We are nearing the single digits, people. This is serious. This is Go Time.

If you have kids, they’ve had Christmas lists for 2 months now.

(Actually, they’ve probably had 3 versions of their Christmas list by now.)

Look, I know I know – presents are a sign of the dark, materialistic side of our society. We’re adults; we just buy what we want when we want it (who even needs Christmas). And there is no Santa.

I get it.

But let me at least add one thing to the list that’s hiding on the unnamed “Notes App” file of your iPhone (or Android…if you’re one of those people):

Agency Nation University.

1. The How, Not The Why

We talk a lot about The Why at Agency Nation.

Why should we invest in digital marketing. Why should we care about insurtech. Why should we experiment with content like video.

Why, Why, Why.

I absolutely love that about our platform. We dig deep.

We do this because we realize that there are many insurance professionals out there who aren’t yet convinced that this stuff really does matter.

But what if you’re already convinced.

What if you know you have to invest and experiment and iterate in strategies that aren’t “the way we’ve always done things.”

You’re ready for The How.

You need someone to show you how to rank on Google, you need someone to show you how to build an email automation sequence, you need someone to show you how to navigate Google analytics, crush Facebook advertising, create video efficiently, etc…..

AND….you need it from the perspective of an insurance professional.

Santa’s here:

And that’s just the beginning. New workshops are already on their way.

This is where we take the mystery out of digital marketing: short, bite-size workshops that you can take action from immediately.

2. A Community of “Do”

I’m going to be real honest with you upfront. Heck – we’re only 2 reasons in.

But this is important.

Agency Nation University is not for everyone.

We are a group of people who are ready to take action.

Not the ready that sounds like: “hmmmm, yeah, I don’t know, maybe I’ll try that next week.”

The ready that sounds like: “LET’S GO!”

When you’re willing to jump in and test, things happen.

It’s how The Rhoads Group now has almost 50,000 video views on their Facebook Page. See it in action here.

It’s how New Heritage Insurance now ranks on Page 1 of Google for “does homeowners insurance cover sinkholes?” See it in action here.

It’s how Carolina Living Insurance receives weekly online leads from their Local SEO strategy. See it in action here.

Because Woody, Nate and Jared….did.

I can show you strategies and techniques, but ultimately you have to execute them.

AND you have to make them your own.

If you’re ready, the community’s ready, let’s go.

3. None of this Affiliate Marketing stuff

Sometimes you buy into a program….to then realize a few weeks in that there’s pressure to buy more.

Tools, other programs, upgrades, etc.

Sometimes program leaders will make a cut of revenue from those recommendations when you buy.

Look, I’m not saying that’s a bad thing at all.

If there’s a vendor, tool or program that someone you trust, trusts. Maybe it’s worth considering.

And I’m also not saying that we won’t ever suggest tools, etc.

But we have 0 financial incentive to do so.

And we’ve structured it that way intentionally.

We want any recommendations or suggestions we throw out to be 110% geared towards helping you achieve your vision or solving your problem. Not towards our wallets.

So, here’s what to expect: 1 monthly subscription. No strings attached.

Let’s keep it simple.

4. We Want You To Fail

Failure can be a scary thing.

Especially in a world where our lives are so public.

I know because I’ve experienced it.

I’ve completely botched a presentation. I’ve written articles that sucked. I’ve made videos that were embarrassing. I’ve thrown a multi-thousand-dollar deal because I couldn’t handle the heat. I’ve said the wrong thing at the wrong time….multiple times.

And every time, Ryan says: “Good. I want you to fail. Keep goin. You just need more reps.”

It’s been some of the best advice I’ve ever received. Not because it’s stopped me from failing eventually, but because it’s completely re-shaped my view of it.

Ready for some more honesty? You’re going to “fail.”

You’re going to execute a strategy that doesn’t catapult you to the first page of Google, you’re going to make a video that doesn’t go viral, you’re going to write a blog that doesn’t get you interviewed by Barbara Walters, you’re going to put an ad on Facebook that doesn’t bring in leads.

You just need more reps.

You need to dig deeper into that SEO strategy, you need to write another article, you need to take a second/third/fourth look at your website, you need to put up another FB ad.

Every time you rep, every time you fail, guess what happens.

You. Get. Better.

Fail and own it. Fail and share it. That’s what we’re all about.

5. We gif.

Honestly, sometimes words just aren’t enough.

Sometimes you need a 1.5 second clip of Carlton Jr. from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air doin the jig in an ugly Christmas sweater… really express how excited you are.

6. We’re Your Team

Batman had Robin and Robin had Batman.

Where would Santa be without reindeers? And can you imagine Rudolph’s life if he was just some normal dude chewin on grass…..or uhm, ice?

Working solo on a new direction can be tough.

Sometimes you just need to bounce an idea off someone. Sometimes you need a second opinion. Sometimes you need a question that’s been keepin’ you up at night…answered.

That’s what we’re here for.

Not only do we have a community of insurance professionals who are ready and willing to share their experiences.

The whole Agency Nation crew is just a Facebook post away.

Nyssa Lieder, our SEO expert; Joey Giangola, our content boss; Jenn Haack and Jen Frey, our user-experience pros; and, of course, Ryan Hanley, The digital marketing Dude himself.

We’ve got your back.

7. I’ll personally send you my favorite Minneapolis coffee.

I think we can all agree that caffeine is a MUST.

I’m not even a whole person before my coffee. Let alone an insurance professional ready to crush the digital space.

So, I’m gonna do you a solid and send you The Goods.

Seriously – this coffee shop is the real deal. It’s the In’n’Out (or Five Guys…(if you’re one of those people) of local coffee establishments.

That’s all I’m telling you for now.

8. Accountability = Results

Have you ever had that vision of who you want yourself to be?

Like…I’ve always wanted to be someone who wakes up at 5am.

The idea of starting my day before everyone else. Before I’m responsible for anything. While the world feels quiet and still.

Sounded amazing.

Also sounded ridiculously hard. Which is why I kept putting it off.

But then, a few months ago, a few members of our community started a #5amclub thread on Twitter.

I got completely caught up in it. And before I knew it, I was waking up at 5 am on a decently consistent basis.

I knew I’d get a “hey where were you this morning??” if I didn’t. I also just loved getting to ‘hang with’ other 5am dudes.

I set a goal of waking up for 21 days at 5am. And the reason I stuck to it? Community.

Now I get up at 5 am out of habit. Don’t even think twice about it.

That’s the power of accountability.

It’s that shot of red bull when you start to drift off course.

And that’s exactly what we want to be for you.
